ORVO

Managing Identities

Find users and service accounts, review status, update identity types, and start account actions.

Use Identities to review directory accounts, service identities, account status, billing context, devices, licenses, recommendations, and available account actions.

Open Identities

From the sidebar, go to Accounts, then Identities.

Depending on your role and navigation path, you may also open filtered identity views from:

  • Employees.
  • Contractors.
  • Billable Users.
  • Under Review.
  • Onboarded or Offboarded lifecycle links.
  • Action mode links for Offboard or Archive.

Search and Filter

Use Search to find identities by name, email, or title.

Common filter sections include:

  • Category: employees, contractors, system accounts, rogue accounts, and other configured identity types.
  • Recommended action: available when recommendation data is present.
  • Account status: sign-in enabled or sign-in disabled.
  • Lifecycle: terminated, terminated under 30 days, or terminated over 30 days.
  • Signals: licensed, has device, onboarding record, or missing from directory.
  • MSP: billable or under review, when available.

Some filters only appear when they apply to the tenant or your role.

Identity List

The identity list shows the person or account, category, job title, department, and row actions. Use the checkbox column to select identities for batch work.

Select a row to open identity details.

Identity Details

The detail panel helps you understand the selected identity. It can include:

  • Type, status, billing tier, billable flag, review flag, termination status, and missing-from-directory status.
  • Recommended action badges and dismissed recommendation state, when available.
  • Directory status and provider.
  • Editable job title, department, company, and manager for supported Microsoft tenants.
  • Onboarding and termination dates.
  • Assigned devices.
  • Microsoft 365 licenses, when available.
  • Recent activity signals, such as sign-in, email, Teams, files, presence, device, managed device, and desktop activation.
  • Archive history.

When no identity is selected, the panel summarizes the visible identities by type, directory status, and operational flags.

When Intelligence is enabled, use the full profile view from the identity panel to review relationship, Jira, meeting, HubSpot, task, ownership, and profile signals. Partner and counterparty rows can open another identity profile when ORVO can match the account.

Update Identity Type or Billing Tier

Select one or more identities to use batch actions.

Available batch actions may include:

  • Update Identity Type.
  • Update Billing Tier.

These actions are useful when cleaning up directory records, separating employee and contractor populations, or preparing MSP billing review.

MSP users can also manage custom billable tiers from the Tiers menu. System tiers appear separately from custom tiers.

Available Identity Actions

Depending on the identity and your access, ORVO may offer:

  • Offboard.
  • Archive.
  • Delete.
  • Dismiss or act on a recommendation.

Use these actions carefully. Offboarding and archiving can trigger downstream workflows such as account handling, archive jobs, and asset notifications.

Under Review and Billable Users

MSP users may see Billable Users and Under Review in the sidebar. Use these views to focus on identities that affect billing or need manual confirmation.
