Managing Devices
Search inventory, add devices, import CSV files, check devices in and out, and maintain device metadata.
Use Devices to manage hardware inventory, assignment, location, warranty, category, status, procurement details, and device history.
Open Devices
From the sidebar, go to Assets, then Inventory.
Search and Filter Devices
Use Search to find devices by:
- Asset tag.
- Serial number.
- Brand or manufacturer.
- Model.
- Assigned identity.
Use filters to focus by status or category.
Device List
The device table can show:
- Device.
- Status.
- Assigned To.
- Location.
- Warranty.
Select a device to open its details.
Device Details
The detail panel can include:
- Assigned identity.
- Location.
- Brand and model.
- Asset tag.
- Serial number.
- Status.
- Category.
- Purchase date.
- Purchase cost.
- Warranty end date.
- Supplier.
- Labels.
- Notes.
- History.
When no device is selected, ORVO summarizes visible devices, deployment status, assignment, and lifecycle flags.
Add or Edit a Device
Use Add Device to create a single inventory record.
Use Edit from the device details panel to update inventory, assignment, procurement, warranty, labels, or notes fields.
When purchase date or purchase cost is missing, the device editor may offer AI Enrich. Review date confidence, price confidence, source, reasoning, price range, and recommended lifecycle date before applying suggested values.
Check Out and Check In
Use Check Out to assign a ready-to-deploy device to an identity.
Use Check In to return a deployed device to inventory.
These actions help keep inventory status and assigned user information current.
Import Devices
Use Import Devices to upload a CSV file. Download the template first when possible.
The import expects columns such as:
- status.
- category.
- location.
- manufacturer.
- model.
- serial number.
- asset tag.
- supplier.
- notes.
- checked out to.
- checked out date.
- checked in date.
- purchase date.
- purchase cost.
- warranty end date.
After upload, ORVO reports created records and any errors.
Use Export from Inventory when you need an import-ready CSV of the current device data.
Configure Device Metadata
From the sidebar, go to Assets, then Configure.
Use Asset Configuration to maintain the lists that power inventory dropdowns, reporting groups, and lifecycle views:
- Categories.
- Labels.
- Locations.
- Manufacturers.
- Models.
- Statuses.
- Suppliers.
Keep these values clean and consistent so filters, reports, and device forms stay useful.
