Archives and Recovery

Review archive records, restore mailboxes, browse archived drive data, export drive containers, and monitor archive jobs.

Use Archives to review completed archive and restore records, recover archived mailbox data, browse archived drive containers, export drive containers, and monitor running archive jobs.

Archive Setup

Archive tools require archive storage to be configured for both mailbox and drive data. If archive storage is not ready, ORVO may show an archive setup message or disable archive navigation.

Users with access can configure archive storage in Settings, then Archive Storage.

Open Archive Records

From the sidebar, go to Archives, then Records.

Use Search to find records by identity, destination, or container.

Use filters to focus by:

  • Operation: archive records or restore records.
  • Channel: mail or drive.
  • Status: archived, restored, deleted, cancelled, or all statuses.

The archive table can show:

  • Record.
  • Type.
  • Date.
  • Status.

Select a record to open archive details.

Archive Details

The detail panel can include:

  • Source identity.
  • Destination identity.
  • Container.
  • Category.
  • Operation.
  • Completed date.
  • Recovery progress.
  • Success rate.
  • Completed item count.
  • Expected item count.
  • System status.
  • Operational notes.

When no record is selected, ORVO summarizes visible records, archive records, restore records, drive containers, and operational flags.

Restore a Mailbox

For archived mailbox records, use Restore Mailbox.

Select the active destination identity that should receive restored mailbox data. Confirm the source mailbox and destination mailbox, then start the restore.

After the restore starts, use Running Jobs to monitor progress.

Browse or Export Drive Archives

For archived drive records, use Browse Drive to open the file explorer.

In the file explorer, you can:

  • Navigate folders.
  • Use breadcrumbs to return to parent folders.
  • View file details.
  • Download individual files.
  • Export the drive container.
  • Delete the container, when available.

Export Drive sends the download link by email when the export is ready.

Running Jobs

From the sidebar, go to Archives, then Running Jobs.

Use Running Jobs to monitor archive and restore jobs that are still processing. Search by email address.

The jobs table can show:

  • Email.
  • Container.
  • Date.
  • Progress.
  • Type.
  • Cancel action.

Progress may show queued, indexing, or a percentage depending on the job type.
